How do I reset my Comcast Business internet? ›

Reset your Comcast Business device

Hard reset the device by using a small object (paper clip or pin) to hold in the reset button on the front or back of the device. Hold the reset button for 2-5 seconds only and release to restart the device. Note: Do not hold the reset button for more than 15 seconds.

You can check for outages using the Xfinity app on your mobile phone. Simply open the Xfinity app and outage information appears.

After you reset your router, you may need to reset or reconnect your Internet by visiting your router's configuration page and re-entering your ISP username and password. This will restore Internet connectivity to the reset router and modem.

Make sure you are within a reachable WiFi coverage area from the modem or router. If there's an area in your home with limited or no internet connectivity, consider upgrading to an Xfinity Gateway where you can add WiFi Boost Pods to extend WiFi coverage.

Multiple short but frequent outages, however, are likely caused by one of two things: Network upgrades in your neighborhood or faulty equipment or wiring at your home.

Unplug the power from your modem or gateway, wait one minute, and then plug it back in. You can also do so remotely if your modem is responsive by performing a restart. Check for local outages using the Xfinity Status Center Outage Map.

To gain access to the configuration pages of your Comcast-provided Gateway, enter 10.1. 10.1 (or the current Gateway's IP address if the default LAN configuration has been changed) into the address bar of your web browser on a computer which has a connection to the internet through the Gateway.
