The Development Will Boast 120,000 Square Feet of Commercial Space For Retail, Dining, Medical Services Upon Completion in Mid-2025.
BABCOCK RANCH, Florida, July 11, 2024 – Today, Babcock Ranch, an 18,000-acre, 50,000-person master planned community in Southwest Florida, has announced that its newest development – The Shoppes at Yellow Pine – is now fully leased. Upon completion in 2025, this 120,000-square-foot commercial shopping center will include seven new eateries, multiple national retailers, a medical center staffed with primary-care and pediatric physicians, and an urgent care facility among an exciting roster of tenants.
Strategically located adjacent to the brand-new Publix-anchored Crescent B Commons shopping center, the under-construction Yellow Pine development will span three multi-tenant outparcel buildings fronting Cypress Parkway and two standalone internal outparcels. The now fully-committed shopping center will feature a strong slate of national and regional brands, including several premium big-box retailers and restaurant chains.
“The Shoppes at Yellow Pine marks a big step for Babcock Ranch, and we are thrilled to deliver more services to our fast-growing residential population,” said Matt Buehler, senior vice president of commercial development at Kitson & Partners. “This project represents the next phase of a master plan that will see the development of six million square feet of sustainable commercial, retail, light industrial, civic and office space for our community.”
The shopping center is optimally located and expertly curated to address the needs and desires of the Babcock Ranch community. Committed tenants include:
• Retail: Several flagship national big-box retailers such as Ulta Beauty, with thousands of beauty products and salon services in one large retail space; Marshalls department store; Ace Hardware; and the discount superstore Five Below.
• Dining: An extensive range of new dining and food options will be available to residents, including the Oar & Iron Raw Bar & Grill, a standalone restaurant on the northeast corner of the site serving delicious steaks and seafood in an upscale setting; Panera Bread for breakfast, lunch and dinner; Jersey Mike’s, featuring hot and cold submarine sandwiches made with high-quality ingredients on freshly baked bread; Five Guys, serving handcrafted burgers and fries; Papa Johns pizzeria; Yummy Thai and Chinese; and a Carvel ice cream shop.
• Medical: Supported through a partnership with Tampa General Hospital (TGH), more than 12,000 square feet of space will be dedicated to the medical needs of the Babcock Ranch community.
• Other: Also in the lineup of Yellow Pine tenants are Verizon; Fountain Pools; Seymour Orthodontics; Tipsy Hair Salon; and The Laser Lounge Spa, specializing in facial peels, microneedling, cosmetic injections and laser hair removal.
“Residents have been asking for more food options, and along with an exciting roster of new restaurants, Yellow Pine will offer three outdoor seating areas for shaded alfresco dining, complementing the indoor seating options at our eateries,” added Buehler. “Healthcare has been another big priority, and we’re excited that our community will have access to world-class medical services thanks to our partnership with TGH.”
Last fall, Babcock Ranch announced the new TGH Urgent Care was coming and expected to open in 2025, bringing one of the nation’s leading academic health systems to Southwest Florida with an expected 2025 opening. Most recently, the partnership revealed a 6,100-square-foot expansion that will be customized to provide service offerings that best meet the healthcare needs of the community, as informed by recent TGH-hosted focus group sessions with Babcock Ranch residents.
“Construction is about 60 percent complete, all of the buildings are up, and we’re starting the exterior finishes now,” adds Buehler. “The strong interest we’ve seen has been very encouraging; not only is it confirmation that our sustainable, resilient development model is attractive to major brands, it speaks to the vitality of our community and further validates that Babcock Ranch is growing into a vibrant town.”
Babcock Ranch’s groundbreaking model for sustainable development and strategic location, nestled 30 miles inland and 30 feet above sea level, ensures maximum protection from major Florida weather events, offering peace of mind to businesses and residents alike. Boasting easy highway access to major Florida cities and international air and sea routes, Babcock Ranch serves as a gateway to limitless opportunities for growth and connectivity.
